Lead Structural Engineer in Rotterdam
About the job;
We have an unique job offer at hand for a Lead Structural Engineer in Rotterdam.
You will be working in close coordination with the Managing Owner and you will be managing a multidisciplined engineering team.
Key responsibilities;
• Technical lead within your project(s) regarding the structural design scope, from the sales phase through installation;
• Creation, monitoring and reporting to the Managing Owner of all the project plans focused on project deliverables;
• Detailed design and analysis of project specifics in accordance with e.g. Flag and Class standards;
• Execution of detailed analytical and/or FE analyses;
• Operational responsibilities for the quayside at the head office.
• Regular alignment with stakeholders, including the external and internal clients such as: sales, project management, CAD design, AutoCAD, Solid works or Inventor, supply chain and logistics;
• Delivery of documentation and technical drawings for certification;
• Following up on deviations during design, manufacturing, transport and installation.
Qualifications;
• You hold an MSc degree in Naval architecture, Structural or Marine engineering or an equivalent field. You have 5+ years proven experience working as a structural engineer. Or 8 + year as a Field engineer.
• It is considered an advantage when you have experience in the offshore industry and when you are familiar with relevant (offshore) design standards such as Class DNVGL, etc.;
• The projects involve multidisciplined engineers so knowledge of adjacent engineering fields such as hydrodynamics, mechanical engineering and analysis or production engineering is advantageous;
• It is paramount that you are proficient in English, both in reading and writing;

The profile required is as follows:
Bsc. or Msc. On a technical degree, preferable Naval Architecture
Relevant work experience in the ship repair sector
Pro-active person, resolutive and with coordination capabilities
Knowledge on ship’s structures
Fluent English, speaking and writing.
Tasks:
Work together with the Engineering Manager assisting on daily tasks
Coordination of work preparation team
Coordination of engineering subcontractor
Check and approval for drawings received from client
Tackle daily issues from production and prepare remedial actions
Duration of the project: estimated 1 year or more
Start date: asap
All in rate: 55-60 eur/h
Working time: 07:00-17:00 (10 hour per day)

Marine Service Engineers (MSE), Marine Electronics Technicians (MET) and Radio Surveyors.
We are setting up a pool of Marine Service Engineers (MSE), Marine Electronics Technicians (MET) and Radio Surveyors to install, service, and repair a variety of electronic/electrical devices such as radars, sonars, navigation, and communication equipment.
Therefore we want to get in contact with Marine Service Professionals who are able to:
- Perform high standard services with the guidance of wiring diagrams, drawings, schematics and/or manufacturer’s specifications.
- Perform surveys and inspections of ship radio communications and radio navigational installations, subject to being in possession of the appropriate qualifications, manufacturer accreditations and experience and are trained in the latest Hi-tech equipment and integrated systems in line with their experience and qualifications
- Able to travel on notice periods of 24-28 hours to The Netherlands and or foreign locations as / when required.
Tasks:
- Checking components, circuit boards, etc. for voltage shorts or irregularities and/or features programmed into logic boards.
- Performing highly specialized repairs and/or corrective preventative maintenance on complex equipment.
- Modifying, updating, adjusting, and troubleshooting equipment, if required.
- Preparing detailed service and failure records.
- Providing technical instruction and assistance to lower level MSEs regarding the installation, operation, repair and maintenance of equipment at customer’s site.
- Responding to requests for emergency assistance in addition to installation and service.
On our projects the following aspects are important to us:
- Following standardized procedures.
- Documenting installation and/or service rendered.
- Maintaining a high first-time fix rate.
- Providing excellent customer service.
- Being personal accountable and responsible for the assigned services.
Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge:
- Past experience in a service industry as well as an in depth knowledge of the wider maritime community
- Strong experience of the installation and maintenance of bridge navigation and communication systems.
- Technical background which would allow an understanding of concepts of all areas of Marine electronics.
- Navigation and Communications manufactures training courses
- GMDSS operator's certificate
- Radio survey experience
- BOSIET or OLF certification

Document Controller
Project Document Controller
Period : 6 months
Remote working negotiable.
Responsibilities :
The Lead Document Controller is responsible for the daily management of documents on a Project. He/she ensures good communication within the project team about the storage, registration and distribution of documents. The Lead Document Controller heads a team of document controllers.
The main focus areas in this challenging position are:
• Processes and checks registers (lists, Document registers) and archives documents in the Document Management System
• Processes internal and external documents
• Checks the conformity and quality of documents
• Distributes documents according to the Projects Distribution Matrix
• Reports to the Project Lead
• Handles the correspondence.
Job requirements:
• Secondary vocational education (MBO/HBO)
• Work experience in a document control, administrative, secretarial or other office support function.
• (Preferred) Experience with SharePoint
• Structured, Accurate, Perseverance
• Good command of the Dutch and English language in word and writing.
